I have a friend who has started a prayer list. You wouldn't wanna be on his prayer list. You just might die if he has any power with the Grim Reaper.
That's right, he actually wishes people dead, so that they might be out of 'his' misery! If someone doesn't assassinate them, then he hopes the Good Lord will see fit to take them down, one way or the other, whether they suffer a fatal heart attack, or die of some other untimely means. Most of his death wishes are reserved for politicians, or other people in high places of power. He doesn't pray that they might see the light and make better decisions, he just wishes them dead! He's sometimes walked a close path with that one as his companion... that Grim Reaper, that wolf in sheep's clothing... that one that would come and take us by surprise... that one that would cloud our eyes, steal our joy, and be the cause of our emotional, mental, or physical demise. I pray that his eyes will be opened, his Heart made light, his joy returned, and that his prayer will be changed.
I've walked many paths, on this journey... and played many parts. I've been the mirror, as well as the reflection in the mirror. I've been the one sucked clean of energy, as well as the one par-taking of another's breath. It was never with intent, I believe, rather, born out of ignorance of the energies that I was momentarily caught up in. Even now, it remains difficult, at times, to rise up above the slaughter and keep breathing on my own, never robbing another of their right to live and breathe, in their differentness from myself.
I don't understand those who see the rest of the world as nothing more than mutants, not worthy of respect, much less worthy of even life. I don't understand those who view those, whose views are different from their own, as nothing more than just plain ignorant... as idiots of the worst kind. I've always been of the belief that we are all worthy of life, else we would not be here... that we were all worthy of respect, by the very fact that we do retain a portion of this thing called life.
I've come to understand that we all come from a different vantage point, by way of our very individual and personal history. I've come to understand that we are all doing the best that we can, from what we have, thus far, learned. I've come to understand that the only way we grow is through experience, and what we experience is different, never the same, as another.
Have we tried to change the world, through love, instead of anger and force? Sometimes the greatest gift we can give to the world is to change ourselves.
... to be continued...
