What I'm Reading

It's Obama's book, Dreams From My Father.

It's a very interesting book, autobiographical. Autobiographies are very telling... and we learn, quickly, where one is coming from. And we can also admire the choices that other's make, when they are made well.

I admire Obama. If I didn't admire him, before, I admire him after having started this book. I like the fact that he has lived so much, experienced so much. He's seen beyond his own back door... in fact, his own back door offered much in rich experience, in terms of understanding other worlds... the worlds of those around us, those whose worlds intersect with our own.

I think of my own father... and what he left me... and wonder, how well have I done with what he gave me? It's a hard question.
